Help keeps pouring in for JLLHS Alumni’s ‘Staying Connected Drive’

Supporters of the Judge Juan Luna High School Alumni Association came in full force on October 30, 2021 during the relaunching of the ‘Bayanihan With Rain or Shine.’

The Skeptron Paltok Chapter QC Council made its presence felt when it showed up to help out in the painting project initiated by the JJLHS Alumni Association thru its sponsor, Rain or Shine. The group also turned over donations of health and office essentials to the school officials.

Its international chapter, Skeptron London England Beta Chapter, also turned over its donation which will be used in purchasing internet loads for the students’ online learning.

The Rotary Club of Congressional headed by former president Mavi Ferrer, also provided donations for the internet load in line with the Alumni Association’s ‘Staying Connected Drive.’

A total of 11 classes from different grade levels will be provided internet loads in the coming days. Previously, the JJLHS Alumni Association thru the help of different donors, were able to purchase more than P5,000 worth of load.

This time, the group is expected to double up its purchase while also providing prizes for the winners of the On The Spot Poster Making Contest held recently. The top three winners: Adrian Ongtingco (first place), John Rain Doctolero (second place) and Mart Anthony Tuando (third place), each received a pocket wifi from sponsor SMART Communications. The champion receives additional P700, the second placer gets P500 internet load and third placer takes P350 internet loads on top of the LTE pocket wifis.

Finalists in the On The Spot Poster Making Contest will each receive P200.

Batch 1982, a staunch backer of the JJLHS Alumni Association’s programs through the years, also donated some health and office essentials to the institution.

Councilor Julius Luces of Tayabas, Quezon dropped by to provide health essentials to the teachers of JJLHS.

Even PBA legend Marc Pingris also facilitated the donations of vitamins and food for the participants of the ‘Bayanihan With Rain or Shine.’

Thru Pingris, the JJHS Alumni Association received Don Benitos special Cassava Cake and Pichi-Pichi made possible by owner Karlo Benito Cruz.

Mr. Edward Isaac donated the vitamins to the teachers of JJLHS while the Magnolia Hotshots provided packed lunch to those who took part in the said festivity.

On Saturday, November 6, the JJLHS Alumni Association will start feting the Jubilarians this year via the Milestone Moments: Virtual Recognition, which will be held in four Saturdays of the month.

A joint project between the Alumni Association and Judge Juan Luna High School is also in the works — the Essay Writing Contest for all students enrolled in school year 2021–2022.

These students will compete using the following themes:

  1. Rise Up! JJLHS (English Category)
  2. Bangon! Hukom Juan Luna (Filipino Category)
